In fall 2018, Bob Strait's thoughts turned to people who were homeless or otherwise in need who would soon have to endure another harsh St. Louis winter. Soon he began encouraging friends and business associates to donate coats, offering to personally deliver collected items to St. Patrick Center. The response was so overwhelming that Bob turned to Catholic Charities in 2019 with plans to sponsor a larger-scale effort. Through Bob's energy, and the generosity of the sponsors he recruited (including his wife Christina of Strait Realty) CoatCheckSTL was born. This year's drive benefits not only St. Patrick Center, but all eight Catholic Charities of St. Louis agencies. If the number of coats exceeds the agencies' needs, remaining coats will be offered to other wonderful St. Louis nonprofit organizations.Donate Today
